The topics and schedule are as follows:
Session 1 & 2: The Five Principles that Guide Empowerment Coaching; Helping Someone & Establish a Coaching Focus – Sept.13, 9:00 a.m. – noon EST
Session 3 & 4 : The Mindset of a Coach, Asking Open-Ended Questions & Reflective Listening – Sept. 20, 9:00 a.m. – noon EST
Session 5 & 6 : Forming an Empowerment Coaching Alliance & Setting IMR Goals = Sept. 27, 9:00 a.m. – noon EST
Sessions 7-12: We will begin our 6 Coaching Practicums, a one-hour practice session, Friday's from 9 a.m. - 10:00a.m. beginning Oct. 4.
This training is for:
* Leaders wanting to engage and empower the people they seek to influence.
* Students, staff, or faculty who are training to be a Success Coach / Academic Coach / Peer Coach
- Differentiate coaching from giving advice, mentoring, teaching, and counseling.
- Recognize when someone is ready to be coached.
- Engage in a coaching conversation that empowers people to change.
- Use the core Empowerment Success Coaching skills to shape that conversation.
- Help the people you coach make wise choices as they set and pursue goals that are important to them.
- Coach in a variety of situations with a variety of coaching partners as you participate in practice coaching sessions throughout the learning experience.
